Andrea Krzyzaniak
Ms. Krzyzaniak is the Director of Trauma/Acute Care Surgery Research & Academic Development. She has experience working in research across a variety of fields with multiple patient populations. Her areas of interest include translational research, social determinants of health, as well as study design and methodology. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in New York and her graduate degree from San Diego State University.
Richard Y. calvo, Mph, PhD
Dr. Calvo is a Research Epidemiologist. His areas of interest include epidemiologic study design, statistical analysis, biomedical informatics, and clinical outcomes research. He received his BS in Biology from Cal Poly Pomona, MPH from the University of Southern California, and PhD from the San Diego State University & University of California, San Diego Joint Doctoral Program in Public Health.
alexandra rooney, mph
Alex is a Research Epidemiologist. Her areas of interest include mental health and substance use, costs/value of medical care, and data visualization using geographic information systems (GIS). A focus of her work is the interplay between mental and physical health. She previously worked at the HIV Neurobehavioral Research Program, where part of her research was on the development and real world implementation of mobile health (mhealth) tools in HIV+ individuals. She received her BA in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego and MPH from San Diego State University.
Alyssa Carroll, MPH
Alyssa is a Research Epidemiologist. Her areas of interest include gender disparities, healthcare access, data visualization, occupational health, and neighborhood health. She previously worked at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego where she coordinated their pediatric Orthopedic Trauma and Sports research projects. She received her BS in Sociology from the University of La Verne and an MPH from San Diego State University.
